The Lord Provides
As I look back on the 2022 Lesotho trip, one word comes to my mind – provision. Throughout the whole trip, the Lord provided and protected our team. We faced many obstacles throughout the trip that could have hindered the team from sharing the Gospel with the Basotho people, yet the Lord provided.
As our team prepared for the trip, we noticed that the weather did not look ideal, as it was supposed to storm every day we would be in Lesotho. This was going to impact our team driving to the Makhoaba Valley along with the Basotho people being able to see the Jesus Film we had prepared to show in the villages. It rained hard, even hailed, during our drive into Lesotho. We prayed as a team and knew the Lord was in control.
The next morning, the Lord showed His provision for our team, as it was a beautiful, sunny day. This happened not only the first day, but all five days in the Valley! The rain would come during the night and stop just before we would head to the villages to share the Gospel. This weather allowed for the Basotho to safely walk from their location to watch the Jesus Film (over 150 people attended this film) and for the roads to be safe to drive across.
Another moment that showed the Lord’s provision was during our multiple vehicle situations. We had a flat tire on our way to Lesotho, and the clutch went out in our truck as we were headed out of Lesotho on our last day. While our team had car trouble throughout our time in Africa, this did not stop the Lord from allowing us to share the Gospel. The Lord protected our team, as we had the flat tire in daylight with no bad weather and in a safe location to pull off the side of the road. Our clutch went out on our last day in Lesotho, which was the only day we did not have to drive to the Valley.
These are just two of many moments where the Lord demonstrated His protection and provision for our team and the Basotho people. Because of the Lord’s provision, people heard the Gospel, lives were changed, and the family of God grew. Abide in the Lord and trust in His plan, because He will protect you and provide for you, even when you least expect it.
