University Outreach

StuMo’s purpose is to build laborers for Christ from the college campuses of the world. This generation of college students is statistically more unchurched than previous years, and I am constantly reminded of my need for God’s grace to win the hearts of Gen-Z college students to share the gospel with them. Thankfully, we have seen that despite spirituality being less common, many students today are still hungry for truth and open to talking about God. For this reason, our weekly meetings on campus are evangelistic, and we host approximately 35+ investigative faith discussions throughout different sororities, fraternities, dorms, and other affinity groups on campus.

This year’s group at Kaleo (our summer discipleship program) was a special one—there were many who came from sororities, fraternities, and pockets of campus that have not been represented in many years, or ever. For many of these students, they are likely the only follower of Christ in their affinity group, and they spent their summer growing in their walk with God and in sharing their faith.

I have been amazed in the past year to see how God is using Mizzou graduates to impact the nations. I visited two countries and saw four different Mizzou grads who are sharing the gospel and discipling believers in a cross-cultural setting. After both trips, I left with a bigger view of God and His love, a deeper burden for the gospel to reach the unreached places, and humbled to be part of the grander story that God is writing. It’s amazing to think that the students we meet on campus today could be sharing the gospel and discipling people across the world in just a handful of years—I am convinced this is one of the beautiful opportunities in making disciples on the college campus.

Please pray for us! For favor as we share the gospel, and that students would come to Christ. Pray students  sign up for our winter conference SMC, and that God would use it. Pray that student leaders would walk deeply with God, fight temptation, and experience the joy of sharing Christ. Pray for spiritual multiplication—that students would see their friends come to Christ. Pray that we would reach lost college students with the gospel, disciple students to be Great-Commission minded laborers, and send out students to make an impact in the workforce, in ministry, and across the world.
