Students in Italy

What mission trip did you go on and when? What did you and your team do while on the field?

I went on the Italy mission trip, it was June 18th to June 28th. While on the field we got the opportunity to help at a youth sports camp. We were all given the chance to share the word of the Lord multiple times, we shared our personal stories  and how we came to know Jesus.

What was your favorite part of the trip? Is there a story that stands out to you from the trip?

My favorite part of the trip was the Bible groups we had everyday. I loved how the kids at the camp had no fear of asking their questions. They always asked interesting questions and were very curious about the story of Jesus and how we came to believe in them. One question I remember in particular is, “What proof do you have he’s real? What makes you believe this?” And I thought that was a wonderful question because it opened a door to tell about all the evidence we have that tells us he was here and that proves his love for us.

What do you feel like the Lord showed you on this trip?

On this trip I was chosen to go up in front of everyone and share what I thought about obeying Jesus. Before this trip I would have never gotten up in front of anyone to share about anything, but in getting up there I think God was trying to show me what sharing the Word can do for others. Getting up there and sharing wasn’t about me, it was about Him and what he can do, and after I got up there and shared his story I realized that.

How can Ridgecrest continue to pray for the people you met?

Continue to pray that those who came get connected to the local church and find Christian friends or someone they trust to continue asking questions. I hope to return next year and find that some are new believers.
